Ticket Cancel Charges: A large part of our country’s population travels by trains daily. This is the reason why Indian Railways is called the lifeline of our country. Often we plan our journey in advance and reserve tickets. But if for some reason we have to cancel our journey, then Railways also deducts cancellation charge on the confirmed ticket. Do you know how much the Railways charges you for ticket cancellation?
Let us know in which category and how much money will be deducted as cancellation charge if the ticket is canceled how much in advance.
- If your ticket is confirmed and you cancel your ticket 48 hours before the departure time of the train, then a cancellation charge of ₹ 240 per passenger is deducted on confirmed tickets of AC First Class and Executive Class. Similarly, if your ticket is of second AC, then Railways charges you ₹ 200 cancellation charge for it.
- If your ticket is of third AC AC chair or third AC economy class, then if you cancel the ticket 48 hours in advance, Railways charges you Rs 180. Similarly, cancellation charge has been fixed at Rs 120 for sleeper class and Rs 60 for second class.
- If you cancel a confirmed ticket less than 48 hours and up to 12 hours before the departure time of the train, then Railways will deduct 25% of the ticket amount as cancellation charge.
- If you cancel a confirmed ticket less than 12 hours before the scheduled departure time of the train and 2 hours before the departure of the train, then 50% of your ticket amount will be deducted as cancellation charge.
