Heavy to very heavy rains may occur at isolated places over Konkan and Goa. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Chhattisgarh, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
The line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon now passes through 29°N/86°E, Darbhanga, Hazaribagh, Pendra Road, Narsinghpur, Khargaon, Nandurbar, Navsari and 20°N/70°E.
Conditions are favourable for the withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and some parts of Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 2 days.
Yesterday’s low pressure area was now located over the east-central Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast at 08:30 am IST today, 11 October 2024. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the central Arabian Sea by the morning of October 13.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over south Tamil Nadu coast at lower tropospheric level. Another upper air cyclonic circulation lies over central parts of southern Bay of Bengal at lower tropospheric levels.
