The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rain. The department said that there may be heavy rain in the next 4-5 days.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in the northeastern states during the next 4-5 days. Along with this, there is a possibility of increase in rain activity. Heavy rains are likely in some parts of South Peninsular India during the next 4-5 days.
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, Gujarat region. Heavy rains will occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Saurashtra and Kutch, West Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe.
Conditions are becoming favourable for the withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and some parts of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh during next 2-3 days.
The trough that formed yesterday from Comorin area to Rayalaseema is now extending from Comorin area to South Coastal Karnataka in lower tropospheric levels. A cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Assam and adjoining areas in lower tropospheric levels.
