The minimum mercury in Haryana reached 8.8 degrees Celsius.
There is a possibility of ground frost in different parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms and lightning at different places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. At the same time, cold day conditions are also likely to continue in different parts of Haryana and Chandigarh.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into south Sri Lanka coasts and south-east and adjoining south-west Bay of Bengal and into the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin area till January 16.
