Weather Forecast Today: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain on Tuesday in 8 districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai. For this, the department has issued an orange alert. However, the current spell of heavy rains in the state may subside towards the end of this week. Coastal and western Maharashtra regions include Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts, which have been battling heavy rains for more than a week. Orange alert will remain in Thane, Raigarh, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Pune, Yavatmal, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli on Wednesday.
Monsoon rains killed 75 people
According to IMD, Orange Alert has been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Pune, Chandrapur and Gondia on Thursday (Today Weather Update) and for Satara only on Friday. However, by the weekend, most of the districts in the state are likely to be back in the Green or Yellow zones. The intensity of the present monsoon has weakened, due to which people will get some relief.
For the last 10 days, most parts of Maharashtra, especially the coastal Konkan, western, northern and eastern regions have been reeling under heavy rains, which have led to flash floods, hill landslides, water-logging of farms, houses, public and private properties. Apart from this, more than 75 people have lost their lives in various tragedies related to rain.
Fear of flood due to heavy rains in Karnataka

After the floods, the Kullu-Manali National Highway is running obstructed for the last 16 days. The name of the highway has been erased from many places and efforts are being made to rebuild it. Restoration work is yet to be done on 8 km stretch of the highway. At present, NHAI is trying to restore the single lane, but the overflowing Beas river and landslides are constantly causing trouble.
Coastalization of paved edges necessary
