Due to the rain in Himachal Pradesh, cold has started in the hilly and high mountain areas. During the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature of the state has dropped by 0.7 degree Celsius.
Himachal Pradesh weather: Himachal Pradesh is getting cold even in the month of September, there will be heavy rain for the next two days; Yellow alert in 10 districts. Sun is still active. Clouds are raining heavily. Last night, moderate to heavy rain occurred in many parts of the state. Capital Shimla and surrounding areas are cloudy today on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of heavy rain even today. The department has warned of heavy rain in the plains and mid-mountain areas for the next two days i.e. 12th and 13th September. Regarding this, yellow alert has been issued in all other 10 districts except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur.
The weather will remain bad till September 17
There is also a possibility of lightning during this period. In view of the alert, people have been instructed to maintain distance from rivers and streams and not to travel to landslide prone areas. The weather is expected to remain bad in the state till September 17. However, no alert has been issued regarding rain from September 14 to 17.
How much rain where
According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning, the highest rainfall of 87 mm was recorded in Nahan, the headquarters of Sirmaur district. Apart from this, 47 mm rainfall was recorded in Paonta Sahib, 36 mm in Dharamshala, 31 mm in Chamba, 28 mm in Jot and 20 mm in Manali. There was a loud thunder of clouds in Sundarnagar, Shimla, Bhuntar and Jot.
Effect of cold starts in hilly areas, Kukumseri is the coldest
Due to the rain in the state, cold has started in the hilly and high mountain areas. During the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature of the state has dropped by 0.7 degree Celsius. Kukumseri of Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place, where the minimum temperature reached 6.1 degree Celsius. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in Keylong was 7.4 degrees, Tabo 10.5 degrees, Kalpa 11.4 degrees, Bharmour and Dalhousie 13-13 degrees, Samdho 15.2 degrees, Manali 14.9 degrees and Shimla 16 degrees Celsius.
37 roads closed due to landslides
According to the State Emergency Operations Center, till Wednesday morning, 37 roads of the state were blocked due to landslides. 10 roads each are closed in Mandi and Kangra districts, six in Shimla, four in Sirmaur, three each in Bilaspur and Kullu districts and one in Una district. 106 transformers have failed due to lightning along with rain. In Kullu district alone, power is out due to 103 transformers being damaged. 97 transformers are closed in Thalout sub-division of Kullu district, five in Kullu sub-division and one in Manali.
