The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, very heavy rains are expected at different places in states like Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and West Madhya Pradesh.
Rainfall Alert: Monsoon is in active mode in most of the states of the country. From Himachal Pradesh to Karnataka, rain is raining as a disaster. On one hand, rain has given relief from the humid heat in some states, while on the other hand, rain is wreaking havoc in some states. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is fully active across the country. IMD has issued a red alert in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today i.e. on August 1, which indicates an increasing threat of extremely heavy rainfall and possible floods.
Heavy rain alert in these 5 states
Monsoon is set to bring heavy rains in Northwest India in the next three days, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi NCR. Apart from this, monsoon activity is expected to remain strong in Central India for the next 4-5 days. Very heavy rains are likely at different places in states like Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and West Madhya Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Madhya Maharashtra from August 1 to 3, for coastal Karnataka on August 1, for eastern Madhya Pradesh on August 2 and 3, for Konkan, Goa and West Madhya Pradesh on August 3.
Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue on most days of the week on the west coast of India, which will affect both coastal and inland areas. This continuous rain can lead to incidents like waterlogging and landslides.
At the same time, moderate rains and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places are likely to continue across northwest, central and eastern India. Residents of these states have been advised to stay updated with the weather forecast and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
Heavy rain warning in Delhi
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many areas of Delhi-NCR. Moderate rain is expected in Delhi, Noida Ghaziabad today. Moderate to heavy rain is expected in Delhi and adjoining areas till August 2. After that the intensity of rain may decrease. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi may remain between 33 to 35 degree Celsius throughout this week and the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 24 to 27 degree Celsius.
