At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Heavy rain in these states too

Apart from Himachal and Uttarakhand, heavy rain is falling in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal, Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Churu in Rajasthan received 141 mm of rain in 24 hours. Badrinath National Highway remained closed on Sunday due to a rock breaking and falling on the road in Vishnuprayag in Uttarakhand. Due to this, Chardham Yatra has been stopped till Monday. Currently 98 routes are closed in the state. Major rivers including Ganga, Alaknanda are in spate. The water level of Ganga is just 85 cm below the danger mark. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain till July 11 from Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar to the Northeast.

41 roads closed in Himachal

Due to heavy rain and floods in Himachal Pradesh, movement on 41 roads is closed. Debris has come on the roads due to landslides at many places. On Sunday, a cowshed collapsed due to landslide in Kullu. According to the state government, 212 electricity transformers have been damaged and 17 water supply schemes have also been disrupted.

Situation is bad in many states

Due to heavy rains in Bihar, many rivers including Kosi, Mahananda, Bagmati, Gandak have reached the danger mark. At the same time, more than 23 lakh people have been affected in Assam. 65 people trapped in the flood in Palghar, Maharashtra have been rescued safely.

Delhi: Yamuna water level starts rising

Due to rain, the water level of Yamuna has started rising in Delhi, but there is no danger of flood yet. The good thing is that the water shortage in the capital will be over. Soon the water treatment plant will start getting more water than required from Yamuna. On Sunday, about 352 cusecs of water was released every hour from Hathinikund Barrage.

65 people rescued in Maharashtra

The NDRF team has safely rescued 65 people trapped due to floods in Thane and Palghar districts of Maharashtra. In Thane district, 49 people were trapped in a resort surrounded by water. At the same time, 16 villagers in Palghar were trapped in water due to heavy rains. Due to torrential rains in Bihar for the last 24 hours, major rivers including Kosi, Mahananda, Bagmati, Gandak, Kamala Balan and Kamala are in spate. The water level of rivers has reached the danger mark in many districts including Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar and Supi. The Gandak river is flowing beyond the danger mark in Gopalganj.
