The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert on November 26, warning of very heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. During this period, rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm is expected.

Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal during the next two days.

Many states of South India are receiving heavy rainfall. The Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rains are likely in Tamil Nadu on November 21, 25-27, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam on November 26 and 27, Kerala and Mahe on November 21, 26 and 27, Rayalaseema on November 26 and 27.
