Weather Update: There is a possibility of hailstorm in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan. Snowfall may also occur in some isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Today’s Mausam: Due to the weather phenomenon called Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in some parts of North India till February 5. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), this system has caused a cyclonic storm in north-western Rajasthan and surrounding areas. Snowfall may also occur in some isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Northwest India is predicted to be affected by a western disturbance starting from February 3. Due to which there will be light to moderate rain and snowfall in places like Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This weather condition can be seen in these areas on Thursday and from 3rd to 5th February.
Apart from snowfall, there may also be heavy rain in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Thursday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is expected in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on Friday, which may continue as sporadic rain from 3 to 4 February.
There is a possibility of hailstorm in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan. Meteorologists have also issued a warning about strong surface winds with a speed of about 30-40 km/hr on Friday, especially over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Despite periodic interruptions, northwest India is likely to experience continuous light to moderate rain or snow with thunder and lightning till February 5.

According to Skymet Weather, there may be light rain in Northern Madhya Pradesh on 4th and 5th February. Light to moderate rain is possible over Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala. Whereas light rain is possible in Northeast India. There may be light to moderate rain and snowfall in the upper reaches of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Dense fog may occur in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
