Rainfall Alert! Warning of heavy rain in these 10 districts, Meteorological Department issued red-yellow alert

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places in the state today. At the same time, an alert of heavy rain has also been issued at one or two places. Light to moderate rain can be seen in most of the districts of the state including capital Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Weather Alert Today: Due to the increasing activity of monsoon, it is expected to continue in the state for the next four to five days. The Chhattisgarh Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain across the state today. It has expressed the possibility of lightning at some places. Apart from this, an alert has also been issued for heavy rain in Bastar division. Heavy rain warnings have also been issued in Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma and Narayanpur districts.

Red-orange alert issued in these districts

The CG Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain with thunder and lightning across the state on Wednesday. A red alert has been issued for extremely heavy rains in Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada districts. Yellow alert for rain is also issued in Kanker, Balodabazar, Rajnandgaon, Bastar and Kondagaon, while light to moderate rain can be seen in most of the districts of the state including capital Raipur.

3 weather systems active simultaneously

According to the CG Meteorological Department, currently 3 weather systems are active simultaneously. A Monsoon trough extends up to 1.5 km height over Bikaner, Sikar, Orai, Sidhi, Ambikapur, Balasore and then southeastwards up to east-central Bay of Bengal. An upper air cyclonic system extended up to a height of 7.6 km over South Jharkhand & neighborhood. Apart from this, a wind shear zone is 4.5 km to 7.6 km high in 20 degree north. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places in the state today. At the same time, an alert of heavy rain has also been issued at one or two places.

Rain in these areas

Pakhanjur received 14 cm, Bijapur-Sukma 7 cm, Berla-Chhura 6 cm, Khairagarh-Bhanupratappur-Simga 5 cm. Along with these areas, light rain occurred in most areas of the state. Raipur – 77.5 mm, New Raipur – 85.5 mm, Durg – 80 mm, Shivrinarayan – 98.7 mm, Nawagarh – 73.5 mm Mahasamund 67 mm, Nandghat – 57.9 mm, Berla – 45.0 mm, Deokar – 49.0 mm, Janjgir – 29.5 mm, Bemetara – 29.4 mm, Pamgarh – 63.8 mm of rain.
