IMD Rainfall Alert: Amidst the scorching heat in India, the weather patterns of some states are likely to change. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in West Bengal and Sikkim on May 9. At the same time, a warning of hailstorm along with strong storm has been issued in some parts of Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heat wave continuing in West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch.
Delhi’s climate
Strong winds will continue in Delhi on 9th May. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and thundershowers in Delhi from May 10 to 12. During this period, a drop in day temperature may be seen. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi can remain between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius this entire week. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 24 to 27 degrees Celsius.
Weather condition of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Winds (40-50 km per hour) are expected.
Whereas light to moderate rain is possible in Uttarakhand, Northeast India, parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Apart from this, light rain is possible at some places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Heat wave conditions are possible in some parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.
Seasonal activities of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, a cyclonic circulation has formed over north-eastern Assam and its associated areas. An area of cyclonic winds has formed over Bangladesh. There is also a cyclonic circulation over north-east Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas, which is 1.5 above sea level.
Apart from this, a trough is passing from northern interior Odisha to south-east Rajasthan, south Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and south-west Madhya Pradesh. A trough is present from eastern Vidarbha to southern Tamil Nadu, passing through Telangana and interior Karnataka. A fresh western disturbance is expected to reach close to the western Himalayan region from May 9.
