Rainfall Update: Rain alert amid shivering cold in Delhi, AQI again crosses 450

Delhi Weather Update: The weather in Delhi continues to fluctuate rapidly before the year 2024. The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog and rain. However, the weather is expected to be clear on Sunday.

Delhi Air Pollution: Dense fog prevailed in many areas of Delhi on Sunday (22 December) morning. In some areas of DND, even the roads were not visible properly. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain before the end of the year.

The Meteorological Department said that moderate fog is likely to prevail in Delhi on Sunday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 24 and eight degrees Celsius respectively. Before the end of the year 2024, Delhi is likely to receive rain on 23, 26 and 27 December. There are signs of a decrease in maximum temperature by the end of the month.

Maximum temperature above average

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 23.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree higher than the average temperature of this season. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree lower than the average temperature of this season. The humidity level was recorded between 100 percent and 64 percent.

Pollution level dangerous in these areas

According to the Delhi Real Time Air Quality Index, the pollution level reached dangerous levels on Sunday morning. AQI was recorded at Indralok 447, Loni 442, Bawana Industrial Area 428, Nizamuddin 416, Dwarka 412, and Ashok Vihar 411. Apart from this, the pollution level was recorded in the severe category in most areas.

Delhi’s air quality reached the ‘very poor’ category on Saturday and the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 370. Officials said that the AQI in the national capital was recorded in the ‘severe’ category on Friday.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
