Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase said, following the weather department (IMD) forecast and continuous rain on Wednesday, there will be a public holiday in all schools and colleges in Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad on Thursday. He said that IMD has issued an orange alert for Pune district. Citizens have been advised not to leave their homes unnecessarily and to be cautious.

Railway passengers also faced problems due to heavy rains

Railway passengers also had to face a lot of trouble after the torrential rains in Mumbai. In the pictures and videos from near Chunabhatti railway station, passengers can be seen walking on the tracks and struggling to go to safer places.

Due to bad weather, Aviation Traffic Control (ATC) at Mumbai airport refused to allow 14 flights to land. Of the 14 flights that were diverted and landed at airports in other cities, nine were IndiGo flights. Two Vistara flights and one each of Air India, Akasa, Gulf Air were also diverted to other cities.
