Weather Update: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on April 22. There are chances of snowfall in Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, heatwave alert has been issued in Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Rainfall Alert: Different moods of weather are being seen in the country. On one hand, there is coolness in some states due to rain and snowfall, while on the other hand, there is heat wave in some parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on April 22.
There are chances of snowfall in Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, heatwave alert has been issued in Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Seasonal activities of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, the Western Disturbance in the form of a cyclonic circulation is located between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining northern Pakistan. The area of cyclonic winds is over North-Eastern Assam and its associated areas. A trough extends from East Bihar to the cyclonic circulation over Northeast Assam.
Apart from this, a trough extends from Vidarbha through Marathwada and Central Maharashtra to the East Central Arabian Sea from the Karnataka-Goa coast, which extends up to 1.5 km above sea level. A trough is extending from South Interior Karnataka to South Tamil Nadu. A fresh western disturbance will reach northwest India from April 22.
Delhi’s climate
The weather in Delhi has once again taken a turn. It rained in many areas here in the early morning. The Meteorological Department says that there are chances of light rain in Delhi on April 22. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi can remain between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius this entire week. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Weather condition of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, between April 22 and 26, there may be rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Whereas between April 22 and 23, there may be rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30-40 km per hour) in North Punjab and North Haryana.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain and strong winds are possible in Northeast India between April 22 and 24. Light to moderate rain may occur in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 22 and 26 April. Light rain is possible in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada between April 22 and 26 and in Konkan and Goa on April 21 and 22. There may be sporadic rainfall in Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Karnataka between April 22 and 24.
