Mausam: Intermittent rain continued in parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday and the local meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in different areas of the state for the next four days.
Weather Update: Monsoon is going to be seen in full swing this week. Such indications are being received from the latest forecast issued by IMD i.e. India Meteorological Department. The department says that heavy rains may occur in more than 15 states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh during the next 5 days. However, some parts of many states including Madhya Pradesh are waiting for rain and are facing heavy humidity, but there are chances of good rain here too.
Where will it rain today
During the next 5 days, there may be rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat region. Apart from these, most of the states of South and Northeast India will also get drenched.
When will heavy rain occur
According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan on July 18, Odisha on July 19 and 20, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal on July 18, Kerala, Mahe on July 18 and 19, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam till July 20, Gujarat till July 19, Vidarbha till July 20, Chhattisgarh on July 19 and 20, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra, Kutch, Coastal and South Interior Andhra Pradesh for the next 5 days.
Red alert for rain in coastal Karnataka
Amidst the monsoon becoming active in the southern states and continuous rains, IMD has extended the period of ‘Red Alert’ for coastal Karnataka till July 18. The intensity of rain has reduced in South Interior Karnataka. In view of this, IMD has withdrawn the ‘Red Alert’ issued earlier for this region but has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ till July 20. The intensity of rain is also expected to reduce after July 19 in coastal Karnataka.
