Rainfall Weather Update: Heavy rain alert in 14 states, know weather condition for 5 days

IMD Weather Updates 22 March: IMD has said that on Thursday, the maximum temperature in many parts of Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim as well as Bihar was 9-12 degrees Celsius below normal.

Weather Update: A cyclonic circulation is situated in the northern part of Jharkhand. Due to this, a trough has formed till Manipur. At the same time, another cyclonic circulation is located over Northeast Jharkhand at the middle and upper troposphere level. Due to these, warnings of light to heavy rain have been issued in many states of the country. This weather condition will continue till March 26. After this, the possibility of increase in temperature has been expressed.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said in its latest report that during March 22-26, thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura as well as West Bengal and Sikkim. And there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with lightning. The IMD has also said that there is a possibility of light rain over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal as well as Kerala.

The IMD has also said that a fresh western disturbance is going to affect the Himalayan region. Due to this, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh between 22 and 24 March. During this period, light rain may also occur in Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. There is a possibility of hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh also on March 22.

Weather forecast for next 5 days

The IMD said that on Thursday, maximum temperatures in many parts of Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim as well as Bihar were 9-12 degrees Celsius below normal. Whereas in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Assam it remained below 7-9° Celsius. According to the IMD report, it remained below 2-4 degrees Celsius in East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, East Vidarbha, Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Maximum temperatures in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad were 6-8 degrees Celsius above normal. It was 2-4 degree Celsius higher in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, North Haryana, Gujarat. The rest of the country remained near normal.

IMD has said that there is a possibility of heat wave over Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch during the next 5 days and over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next 2 days.
