Mamta Banerjee’s spirits are high after winning a massive victory in the recent Bengal Legislative Assembly elections. His party TMC has already announced its expansion across the country. In such a situation, there are speculations that Mamata Banerjee is trying to garner support for her party through farmers in states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
Opponent looking for opportunity
Rakesh Tikait has been considered to have a good mass base in West Uttar Pradesh. Also, in the districts of Haryana, the Khap Panchayats have their own separate base. Since the implementation of the Agriculture Act, the farmers of all these areas are said to be angry with the BJP and in such a situation other opposition parties including Congress are seeing it as an opportunity. This is the reason that the opposition parties are constantly attacking the government regarding agricultural laws and have made it a means to target the central government.
Recently, Rakesh Tikait had said, citing the results of Bengal elections, that what has happened to the BJP in Bengal, is going to happen in UP as well. He had said that in the year 2024, on one hand the government will prepare for the elections, on the other hand we will prepare to teach a lesson to the government.
TMC vs BJP
The party’s newly-appointed general secretary and Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee had also said on Monday that her party aims to reach every nook and corner of the country and its plan would be ready in a month. Instead of worrying about issues related to Trinamool, the BJP should focus on the fight within its party, he said.
Mamta Banerjee has returned to power in Bengal for the third time in a row. In such a situation, his stature among the opposition leaders has increased a lot. The results of Bengal elections have also given a clear indication that it is not easy for the BJP in the state to take on Mamata’s party. In this episode, Mamta Banerjee is now looking ready to gear up for the power of Delhi.
