Rapid Metro Fare Hike: There is important news for passengers traveling in Gurugram Rapid Metro. Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) is planning to increase the fare of Rapid Metro. At present, the minimum fare in the metro is Rs 20, while the maximum fare is Rs 35. The increase in the fare amount will be keeping in mind the fare fixed by Delhi Metro Rail Limited (DMRC).
According to sources, the issue of fare hike will be discussed in detail in the HMRTC board meeting likely to be held next month under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi. The Rapid Metro runs from DLF Cyber City at Shankar Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway to Sector 56 on Golf Course Road, which is about 12.85 km long. It has 11 stations.
In the month of October, around 13 lakh 77 thousand passengers have travelled at Rapid Metro stations. In this, the number of passengers coming from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is around 6.24 lakh. Around 7.52 lakh passengers have boarded the Rapid Metro only for travelling. The maximum number of passengers have travelled from Sector-55-56 metro station. The number of these passengers is around 1.84 lakh. Apart from this, Rapid Metro stations are Sector-54 Chowk, Sector-53-54, Sector-42-43, DLF Phase-1, DLF Phase-3, Molsari Avenue, Cyber City, Belvedere Tower, DLF Phase-2 and Sikanderpur. In the month of October, Rapid Metro has received a fare of Rs 2.78 crore. HMRTC has prepared a plan to increase the fare of Rapid Metro.
Chief Secretary gave orders to increase revenue
Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi has issued orders to HMRTC Managing Director Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare to increase the revenue of Rapid Metro. Permission should be granted to put up advertisements on Rapid Metro stations and pillars through e-bidding. Shops at Metro stations should be given on rent. Orders have been issued to implement this work.
