The date has been extended again for eKYC in government ration shops. Now ration card holders can complete the work of eKYC till 31st August. Verification of 6.43 lakh people of One Nation One Ration Card is currently pending.
Mandatory to do E-kyc
According to Durg District Food Officer CP Dipankar, apart from informing about ration in ration shops like normal days, EKYC work is also being done through E-Pos machine. 462000 ration cards are registered under the maximum distribution system. In which, under the ration card scheme in the name of 1676000 beneficiaries, it is mandatory to do e-kyc on the basis of Aadhaar number and fingerprint of these beneficiaries. For this reason, the dates have been extended once again for eKYC. Now the work of eKYC can be completed by 31st August. A letter has been written by the Chhattisgarh government to all the collectors in the matter.
Big preparation by Himachal government
Huge preparations were made by the Himachal government. Under this, it has been made mandatory to link the ration card with Aadhaar. In case of not doing so, the ration card holders will not be able to get the benefit of ration. An important decision has been taken by the government. Cheap ration will be made available to them only after the ration card is verified with Aadhaar. Arrangements have been made by the government to maintain transparency in the same distribution. On August 15, it will be mandatory to register Aadhaar by going to the concerned depot.
Karnataka: Decision to issue BPL cards of different categories
Here, a lot of preparations have been made by the Government of Karnataka. Under this, a big announcement was made by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Muniyappa. In which it has been said that separate categories will be issued by the government for those who want subsidized ration and those coming by car only for the purpose of availing medical facility.
Talking to media persons in Bengaluru, the minister said that many families are willing to get BPL card only for the purpose of availing medical facility and they had no interest in getting free rice. Keeping in view the needs of the beneficiaries, the government has decided to issue BPL cards of different categories. This will not only reduce the total quantity of rice required under Anna Bhagya Yojana but will also help in targeting the needy people. A survey will be conducted soon for this.
Punjab: Door to door ration scheme started
Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana can be started once again by the government in the voice of Punjab. Earlier this scheme was put on hold after it was challenged in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. A plan is being prepared to distribute ration to fair price depot holders by bringing them under the purview of the scheme. The state’s Depot Holders Welfare Association had challenged the government’s move to move fair price shops to door-to-door delivery through newly appointed distribution agencies.
A petition was filed in the High Court. In which a demand was made to direct the state government to distribute ration through depot holders under the National Food Security Act 2013. However essential commodities can be distributed only through fair price shops as per the direction of the Central and State Government. Under this scheme, the section will distribute food grains to at least 500 beneficiary smart card holders. The plan is likely to be discussed in the cabinet on Saturday. Under the scheme, the beneficiary of the Atta Dal scheme of the state government will get ration at their home. This scheme will be optional only and those beneficiaries do not want to stand in queues. He can opt for it.
Himachal: Other items will be available
Big preparations have been made by the Himachal government for the ration card holders. Tata and Davar products will also be made available to the consumer at cheaper rates than the market. Toothpaste, soyabean, oil salt, tea leaves, pulses, chavanprash, shampoo, flour, semolina, mustard oil, almonds, oil and other items will also be made available to them. People will get relief from this. For this, both Tata Dabur companies have started sending fields to godowns on the basis of contract agreed upon with the government. From the month of August, the products of Davar Tata will be available to the beneficiaries along with cheap ration at the ration depot.
However, various types of discounts will also be made available to them. In the first phase, it will be operated in some depots. At the same time, goods of renowned companies will also be easily available to the people in each depot. In this case, Food Supply Controller of Solan, Narendra Dhiman says that at the fair price shop, the consumer will get Tata Davar products at low prices. According to the guidelines, the goods of both the companies will be available at the fair price shop. In the first phase, it will be operated in some depots as a trial. And the consignment for the month of August is reaching the godown.
