Ration cards will be made in the states by identifying the eligible people so that they can be given the benefits of facilities under the National Food Security Act. Sudhanshu Pandey also informed that in the last 7-8 years, around 4.7 crore ration cards belonging to an estimated 18-19 crore beneficiaries have been canceled due to different reasons. Along with this, new cards are also issued by the states and union territories to the eligible beneficiaries on a regular basis.

What will be the new facility
To take advantage of this new facility, it is not necessary to have the paper of the place where you live. The form can be filled by yourself or with the help of someone else on the common platform. In this, you will have to give information about your state or residence. After this, the common platform will share that information to that state. Then the state and common registration platform will complete the verification work on their basis and the ration card will be ready. This will also strengthen the government’s scheme One Nation-One Ration Card i.e. ONORC which is being run rapidly in every state. At present, all 36 states of the country are included in the ONORC scheme.
