Ration card holders should complete this work within 7 days, otherwise they will not get free ration

If you are a ration card holder then you have to complete your e-KYC process by March 31, otherwise your ration card may be cancelled and you will not get the benefits of ration card.

Ration Card Holder eKYC: There is important news for ration card holders. If you have not completed the eKYC process till now, then get it done within 7 days, otherwise you will stop getting ration benefits from April. If a ration card holder does not get KYC done by the prescribed date, the names of such members will be removed from the ration card. Those members will be deprived of food grain distribution.

Ration card holders of the state can contact their PDS shop or dealer to get eKCY done. If a beneficiary is living in another state, then he does not need to return to his home state for Aadhaar seeding. Beneficiaries can go to the nearest public distribution system shop from where they are and complete the eKYC process through e-POS machine.

Last date for EKYC in Punjab, Bihar and Jharkhand is 31 March 2025

The Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has set the last date for eKYC as 31 March. Holders can contact their PDS shop or dealer to get eKCY done. If you face any problem, you can contact the District Supply Office. Beneficiaries can complete the eKYC process through e-POS machine by going to the nearest public distribution system shop from where they are.

Nitish Kumar government of Bihar has also fixed the last date for eKYC as 31 March 2025. Aadhaar seeding will be done for free at the dealer’s shop. E-KYC will be done at the dealer’s place from 10 am to 12 noon every day. The department has started the facility of Facial e-KYC of the beneficiaries, through which any beneficiary can do his KYC from any place in the country through Mera e-KYC app AadhaarfaceRD app from his mobile phone.

The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has also set March 31 as the deadline for KYC for beneficiaries taking ration from government depots. Ration card holders who have not yet got their KYC done should get the KYC of their entire family members registered in the ration card done from any depot near them as soon as possible, otherwise they may face problems in getting ration. Ration card holders who have not yet got their KYC done can get their KYC done by going to the nearest ration depot holder of their village-ward. If a beneficiary does not get KYC done, then as per the instructions issued by the Government of India, he will not have the right to get ration after April 2025.

Why is eKYC necessary for ration card holders

Aadhaar card, ration card or BPL card is required for many schemes of the central and state government. If your e-KYC has already been done, then it will be easier for the government to provide you the benefits of the scheme. If eKYC is not done, then the ration provided by the government may stop.

Ration card is E-KYC i.e. Know Your Customer, the reason behind getting it done is to verify the identity of ration card holders and eliminate fake ration cards.

Completing the KYC process will only benefit those who are eligible. If a fake ration card is in someone’s name, then it can be eliminated. Under the eKYC process, every ration card member has to match his name, date of birth etc. with his Aadhaar data.
