Ration Cards: Get ration card made from mobile sitting at home, application process started

For those beneficiaries who do not have Android mobile and where there is no mobile connectivity, provision has been made to apply electronically for ration card through online and offline process at the fair price shop level.

The state level campaign for renewal of all 77 lakh ration cards currently prevalent under the public distribution system in Chhattisgarh is going to start from today, January 25, 2024. It has been decided by the state government that the renewal work of all the currently prevalent ration cards will be done from 25 January 2024 to 29 February 2024. In this regard, detailed instructions have been issued to all collectors on January 19. Ration Card Renewal: A new mobile app has been prepared by the Food Department, which ration card holders can download in their mobile and submit electronic application online.

For those beneficiaries who do not have Android mobile and where there is no mobile connectivity, provision has been made to apply electronically for ration card through online and offline process at the fair price shop level. Within an hour of uploading this app, 254 beneficiaries have downloaded it and submitted applications for renewal.

E-KYC will happen faster

Keeping in mind the facilities of ration card holders, the state government has made the process of renewal of ration card better and simpler than before so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of renewing his ration card. In case of completion of E-KYC for any one of the members included in the ration card, the beneficiary can submit electronic application through the mobile app. With this process, along with the renewal of ration cards of the beneficiaries till February 2024, the work of E-KYC of the missing members will also be completed rapidly.

Renewal will be free

The entire renewal process for ration cards issued under Antyodaya, Priority, Destitute and Disabled categories will be free and they will not have to pay any amount to get a new ration card. For general category ration card holders, an amount of Rs 10 has been fixed for renewal through the app.
