The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has shared important information on 100 rupee notes. According to the RBI, 100, 10 and five rupee notes of the old series are not being left out of circulation. According to the RBI, there is no plan to close these notes in March or April.
In fact, the RBI has denied the news released in a section of media in which this claim was being made. Actually, the Reserve Bank of India’s Assistant General Manager B Mahesh has said in the District Level Security Committee meeting that the central bank is planning to close these notes. However, this is not the first time the RBI has said this on 100 rupee notes. On this, Sarak clarified that it has not been decided to discontinue these notes, although the printing has come down significantly.
