New Delhi: How easy banking facility has become with online payment and UPI payment . Now there is no need to even go to the bank for many banking procedures, most of the work can now be done online only. In the midst of the trend of digital payment, sometimes its risks also come to the fore. Sometimes you can be a victim of online fraud or sometimes you have sent money to the wrong account at the time of transaction. But the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken several steps in the recent past to make banking easy and convenient, especially online banking. If it happened to you that you have sent money to a wrong account, then you can know about some of the measures mentioned below, so that you can be careful in future. At the same time, we are also telling about the guidelines of RBI in this regard, with the help of which you can initiate the process of refund immediately in such incidents.

What are the guidelines of RBI

Keeping such incidents in mind, RBI has issued some guidelines. Now if you want to do any transaction from ATM, UPI or net banking, then you will get a message immediately, in which you will be confirmed whether you have done the right transaction or by mistake. In this message you will also be given a phone number. If you have done that transaction by mistake then you can immediately tell on that phone number that this transaction was done by mistake. RBI has directed that your bank will have to take immediate action on such messages.

What can you do

If you are caught in such a situation, then you should immediately inform your bank about it. Whether the transaction is due to fraud or your mistake, give details of this to the bank. You can either call your bank on the customer care number or you can visit the bank branch yourself. Here you will have to tell everything in whose account the money has gone, its bank account, date, time etc. The bank can contact the recipient to whom you have remitted the money.

If the recipient refuses to return the money then…

If the recipient refuses to return the money even after contacting the bank, then you can take legal action. You have to take the case to court. RBI also directs this. However, the matter may drag on in this process as the matter will now be settled in the court. Your transaction will be seen in the bank and in the court. The most important thing is that if you have transferred money by mistake, then the accountability becomes yours, in which case the bank is also not responsible for it.

Let us also tell you that if you have entered the account number of the recipient wrong by mistake and the money has been deducted from your account, then your money will be credited back automatically. At the same time, if you have entered the wrong account number at the time of UPI transaction, then your money will not be deducted because then this transaction will not be able to complete.
