Reliance Jio tops the 4G speed chart with 20.1 megabytes of data download per second. Vodafone is ahead of other companies with 6.7 Mbps in its April upload segment, according to the latest data from telecom regulator Troy.
Reliance Jio has three times faster download speeds than its closest competitor Vodafone.
Although Vodafone and Idea Cellular have merged their mobile businesses under the name Vodafone Idea Limited, the Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority (Troy) is still releasing separate network speeds of both companies.
Vodafone recorded 7Mbps download speeds in April, Troy said on May 11. Idea is followed by 5.8 Mbps and Airtel 5Mbps download speeds.
Vodafone tops the list with 6.7 Mbps in the upload category. Next is the Idea with 6.1 Mbps. Geo has 4.2 Mbps and Airtel has 3.9 Mbps.
Download speeds enable customers to access information from the Internet. Upload speed enables fast forwarding of images and videos to their contacts.
With the help of the MySpeed App, Troy collects data across the country in real-time, thereby calculating average speeds.
