CBSE has warned class 12th students and has strictly instructed them not to take admission in any dummy school or else they will not be allowed to appear in the board exams.

Jio plan: There is very important news for class 12th students. CBSE i.e. Central Board of Education has clearly given the message that now those students who take admission in dummy schools should be careful because if it is found in the investigation that they have taken admission in dummy schools, then they will not be given a chance to sit in the board exam.

Students and parents will be responsible for this

An official of the CBSE board said that the students and parents themselves will be responsible for the ill-effects of admission in ‘dummy schools’. CBSE is considering changing the rules of the exam as part of the ongoing action against ‘dummy schools’, so that such students can be prevented from appearing in the board exams.

Students were warned

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has warned the students who take admission in ‘dummy schools’ and said that those students who will not attend regular classes will not be allowed to sit in the 12th board exam. A board official said that the students and their parents will be responsible for the consequences of admission in ‘dummy schools’. They will have to give the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) exam instead of CBSE board exam.

Will not be allowed to appear in board exam

A senior board official said, “If any candidate is found missing from school or is absent during surprise inspection conducted by the board, then such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the board exam. The concerned student and his/her parents will be responsible for the consequences of not attending classes regularly.”

Implemented from this session

The official said that action will be taken against schools promoting ‘dummy’ culture or promoting absent students as per the board’s affiliation and exam rules. The issue was also raised in the board’s recent governing board meeting, where it was recommended that the decision be implemented from the academic session 2025-2026.

This percentage of attendance should be

The official said, “The matter was discussed in detail in the examination committee and it was concluded that as per the board rules, a minimum of 75 per cent attendance of students is mandatory to appear in board examinations.” He said that if the expected attendance is not met, then only enrolling in a non-attendance school may not entitle such students to appear in CBSE exams.

Such students will be able to give these exams

The official said, “If a student is not allowed by CBSE, then in such a situation they can go to NIOS to appear in the exam. It was further said that the board gives relaxation of 25% only in cases of medical emergency, participation in national or international sports events and other serious reasons.

According to the official, the board is considering that the candidature of those students who do not have 75% attendance will not be considered by the board and disciplinary action can also be taken against the school registering such students for the examination.
