At the same time, orders have also been issued for this. As per the issued order, the retirement age of professors of Kashmir University has been increased.

Important demand of doctors association

There has been an important demand by the AAP Doctors Association after increasing the retirement age of professors by 3 years. Doctors Association has demanded the Jammu and Kashmir government to increase the retirement age for doctors to 65 years. In this matter, Chairman Nisar ul Hasan says that increasing the retirement age of doctors will help in the betterment of health care by utilizing the services of experienced doctors.

Along with this, Dr. Hasan said that many senior faculty members are retiring in the medical college. This will create a huge void in the teaching hospitals. Earlier there is shortage of faculty in the medical college and the retirement of other senior professors may completely affect the medical education in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, the number of postgraduate and postdoctoral seats will also be affected. The President of the Doctors Association says that increasing the retirement age will help in retaining professional doctors. Health service will not be affected by this. It will also help in improving teaching and research in teaching hospitals.

At present the retirement age for doctors in J&K is 60 years while it is 62 years for faculty in teaching hospitals Retirement age for Central Government doctors is 65 years. After which the demand for increasing the retirement age for Jammu and Kashmir doctors also to 65 years has started.
