Weather Update Today: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heat wave in isolated or some parts of Western Rajasthan from 17 to 19 May. There is a possibility of heat wave in Punjab, South Haryana during May 17 to May 19 and in North Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during May 17 to May 19. There is a possibility of temperature crossing 45 in Delhi also.

Today’s season: It is extremely hot in many states of the country at this time. The temperature has crossed 45 in many cities. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said something scary. IMD has predicted fresh heatwave conditions in the eastern region from May 18. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain with storm, lightning and strong winds in South Peninsular India.

The Meteorological Department said that the Southwest Monsoon is expected to advance into South Andaman Sea, some areas of Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands by May 19, 2024. There is a possibility of heat wave in isolated or some parts of Western Rajasthan during 17 to 19 May. There is a possibility of heat wave in Punjab, South Haryana during May 17 to May 19 and in North Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during May 17 to May 19.

Delhi’s climate

Talking about the country’s capital Delhi, the Meteorological Department said that the temperature in Delhi is likely to reach 45 degrees Celsius during the weekend. Dry westerly and north-western winds have been held responsible for the rising mercury. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature can reach 44 degrees Celsius by Friday and 45 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Next 24 hours weather

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, parts of Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rain may occur in Southern Chhattisgarh, Southern Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Light rain is possible in Northeast India, Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Central Maharashtra and Gujarat. The weather may be almost dry in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and the temperature will increase in these areas. Heat wave conditions are possible in some parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.
