RO Water: CM Kejriwal’s big announcement! Every person will get 20 liters of RO water free daily

RO Water ATM: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will install 500 water ATMs near slums and densely populated areas, so that every person will be able to take 20 liters of free RO water daily.

Free RO Water in Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement for the people of Delhi and has announced to give 20 liters of free RO water daily to every person. For this, the Delhi government will install 500 water ATMs in slums and other densely populated areas. Under this, CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday inspected an RO plant in Khajan Basti of Mayapuri and inaugurated a water ATM.

4 water ATMs have been installed so far: Kejriwal

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that the Delhi government plans to set up 500 water ATMs to provide drinking water purified through the ‘Reverse Osmosis’ (RO) process to people in slums and other densely populated areas. He said that four such ATMs have been installed and there is a plan to install a total of 500 ATMs in the first phase.

Every person will get 20 liters of RO water free daily

Under this scheme of the Delhi government, every person will be given 20 liters of free RO water daily. CM Arvind Kejriwal told that every person will be provided with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) card by the Jal Board, through which he will be able to take 20 liters of water per day from the ATM.

Will have to pay for taking more than 20 liters of water

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that for taking water in excess of the prescribed quota of 20 litres, a fee of Rs 1.60 per 20 liters would be charged. He also said that these ATMs will be installed near those slums where there is no water pipeline and water is supplied through tankers.

Target to provide clean water to poor people: Kejriwal

CM Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘As we all know that there is RO facility in the houses of rich people, now with this facility the poor people of Delhi will also get clean water.’ Kejriwal and Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman and water minister Saurabh Bhardwaj also drank purified water from the RO plant. According to the official statement, two tanks of three thousand liters each have been installed in the Khajan Basti plant.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet, ‘In the mission of providing clean water to every house in Delhi, we are doing a unique experiment like installing water ATMs. Wherever water is being delivered by tanker, these ATMs will be installed there. He also said that the Delhi Jal Board has installed water ATMs in Shakurbasti, Kalkaji and Jhaoda. Under the project, 50 RO plants of 30 thousand liters capacity will be set up near different slums.

Cards have been provided for free water

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that every person will be provided Radio Frequency Identification Card (RFID card) by the Jal Board for RO water. With this card every person will be able to take 20 liters of water free from water ATM daily. Delhi government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj told that about 2500 cards have been made available to the residents of Khajan Basti for free water from ATMs.
