WB Doctor Salary Hike: After government employees, now the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal has given a gift to doctors and medical staff. CM Mamata Banerjee has announced a salary hike for medical staff before Holi. Apart from this, all interns, house staff, post-graduate trainees and post-doctoral trainees have been given a salary hike of Rs 10,000.
CM Mamata Banerjee said that we had earlier increased the salary of senior and junior resident doctors, but now more improvement is needed, so we have decided to increase the salary of senior resident doctors by Rs 15,000 at all levels. This is being considered a masterstroke of the Mamata government before the upcoming assembly elections.

Under this, diploma holder senior resident doctors will now get Rs 80,000 instead of Rs 65,000. Post-graduate senior resident doctors will get Rs 85,000 instead of Rs 70,000. The salary of post-doctorate senior doctors will be increased from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

DA of government employees has increased, new rates applicable from April
It is worth noting that recently during the budget, Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal had increased the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners. Minister of State for Finance (Independent Charge) Chandrima Bhattacharya had announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA) of employees and pensioners by four percent, after which DA has increased from 14% to 18%. The new rates will be considered effective from April 1, 2025, in such a situation, the salary will increase in the account from May 2025. This will benefit more than 10 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government.
