Salary Increase: New update! Due to increase in DA and fitment factor of central employees, there will be a bumper increase in salary

The DA of central employees may increase soon for the second half. Apart from this, it is being said that the government can also make a big announcement on the fitment factor. There was a four per cent increase in DA for the first half of this year.

Central Employees can get good news soon about the increase in salary. There is news that for the second half of 2023, along with the DA hike, the government can also increase the fitment factor. If an increase in the fitment factor is announced, then there will be a substantial increase in the basic salary of the employees. However, no official announcement has been made by the government on this. The employees currently get a fitment factor of 2.57 per cent.

How much will be the minimum salary?

An employee with grade pay of Rs 4200 gets a basic salary of Rs 15,500. In this way his total salary will be Rs.15,500X2.57 or Rs.39,835. The Sixth CPC had recommended an increase in the fitment factor by 1.86 per cent. The employees are demanding that the fitment factor be increased to 3.68 per cent. If there is such an increase, then the existing minimum wage will be increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.

DA hike for second half

Apart from this, the government can increase Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by four percent for the second half. The government had also increased DA and DR by four per cent for the first half of this year. If there is an increase of four percent, then DA will increase from 42 percent to 46 percent and the salary of the employees will also increase. The government had increased the DA of the employees by three percent in March 2022. After this increase, the dearness allowance of the employees was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. After this, there has been an increase of four per cent in DA twice.

How much will the salary increase?

If the DA of central employees becomes 46 percent, then their salary will also increase. Suppose the basic pay of a central employee is Rs 18,000. If we look at 42 percent, then DA becomes Rs 7560. On the other hand, if the DA increases to 46 per cent in the second half, then it will become Rs 8,280. That means there will be an increase of Rs 720 per month in the salary. The government approves the hike in DA for the second half in September or October. But this time there is a possibility of announcement in August.

There has been a four per cent increase in DA for the first half. DA is part of the salary structure of government employees. In view of the inflation rate, the central government increases the DA of the employees.
