Samsung Galaxy S20 camera glass flaws, users filed suit

Users have also alleged that Samsung has refused to cover the problem of Samsung Galaxy S20’s camera glass under warranty.

Samsung is facing a lawsuit to hide a glitch in the camera glass on all Galaxy S20 models, including the Ultra and FE models. Many users have sued the South Korean electronics giant for selling phones with defaced camera glasses. The smartphone manufacturer launched the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra in February last year before adding Fan Edition to the line-up.

The lawsuit alleges that Samsung broke its warranty, defrauded and broke several customer protection laws by selling Galaxy S20 phones, whose camera broke without glass warning or misuse. Users have also alleged that Samsung refused to cover the problem under warranty even though its employees were aware of the drawback.

Users can get compensation
This problem has been faced by Samsung users in the US, who paid $ 400 to repair it. If the case goes ahead and the decision goes in favor of the buyers, then all these users can get compensation. Compensation can cover both loss of value and further loss.

However, users should not expect big payouts. In these cases the claims are usually reduced by the cost of the lawyer and the number of claimants. This is a very irresponsible move by Samsung, one of the world’s largest tech companies, but it did not stop Samsung from selling more phones. In fact, Samsung has withdrawn the title of world’s largest smartphone manufacturer from Apple.

According to Counterpoint Research, in the first quarter of the year, shipping of Samsung’s smartphones in India was 20 percent, compared to 16 percent in the previous year. Samsung has won the top five companies in terms of shipping in the first quarter. On the other hand, Apple has maintained its leading position in the premium segment (over Rs 30,000 or more than $ 400) with around 48 percent share.
