Sarkari School: NCERT changed the syllabus of class 3 and 6, know the reason

Sarkari School: NCERT has announced to change the syllabus of classes 3 and 6. Let us know why the syllabus has been changed?

NCERT Syllabus: National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has announced to change the syllabus of class 3 and class 6 books. Preparations are being made to implement the new syllabus from the new academic session 2024-25. Also, it has been made clear that apart from the books of these two classes, the syllabus of books of any other classes will not be changed. A letter has been sent to all the concerned schools regarding the syllabus.

Online syllabus will be sent to all schools

CBSE Board Director Joseph Emmanuel has advised schools to adopt new books instead of old books for classes 3 and 6. He also said that CBSE will organize capacity building programs for all school heads and teachers. With this, they will be made aware of the rules and goals of the new education policy 2020.

How many times has the syllabus been changed before?

NCERT had earlier changed the syllabus in 2022 also during the Covid 19 pandemic. Under this, to reduce the syllabus burden on students due to Covid 19, the syllabus from class 6 to 12 was reduced. Whereas in the year 2023, NCERT had removed the subjects of Mughal rulers, 2002 Gujarat riots, Cold War and Emergency from the syllabus. Even before this, changes have been made in NCF several times. Under this, changes were also made in 1975, 1988, 2000 and 2005.

Due to change in syllabus

SCERT has given some reasoning while making changes in the syllabus. He said that under the New Education Policy 2020, many changes are needed in school education, so that students will be able to connect with the new education system. Under this, all schools will be able to work on multilingualism, art, experimental education and other aspects. This will develop new abilities and consciousness in the students. Along with this, there will be an opportunity to connect with modern education.
