Public sector banks have offered to open savings accounts with lifetime zero balance. It will also issue free debit and credit cards.

Zero Balance Saving Account: The government bank of the country is giving customers the opportunity to open zero balance saving account. An account can be opened in this bank with zero balance for life. Besides, R credit and debit cards can also be issued under this account. This will eliminate the need to maintain minimum balance in the account.

Public sector Bank of Baroda has provided this facility. During the festive season, BOB has launched a campaign called Umag with BOB. Under this, a savings account is being opened on zero balance. The bank has said in its statement that under BOB Lite, a savings account can be opened with zero balance without any hassle.

Debit and credit card facility also available

If you want, you can avail the facility of free RuPay Platinum Debit Card for lifetime. However, for this you will have to maintain a small balance on quarterly basis. If the customer is eligible then he can also avail the credit card facility. Additionally, BOB Lite Savings Account is loaded with several festival offers.

Deal with multiple brands

BOB has made deals with many banks to provide benefits to account holders during the festive season. On BOB debit and credit cards, discounts can be availed on categories like electronics, consumer durables, travel, food, fashion, entertainment, lifestyle, grocery and health. The festival campaign will run till December 31, 2023, and cardholders can avail special offers from Reliance Digital, Croma, MakeMyTrip, Amazon, BookMyShow, Myntra, Swiggy, Zomato and other brands.
