If you have an account with the State Bank of India (SBI), then you can apply for the Cheque book by going to the bank branch or using the net banking facility. Cheque book can be requested for saving, current, cash credit and overdraft account. You can apply for a Cheque book of 25, 50 or 100 Cheque leaves as per your requirement.

Here we are telling you each step to apply for the Cheque book online.
Step 1: First go to www.onlinesbi.com and log in to your account.
Step 2: Once logged in, click on the ‘Request and Inquiries’ tab.
Step 3: A new webpage will open on your system. Select ‘Cheque Book Services’ from the available options. Then select ‘Cheque Book Request’.
Step 4: Select the account for which you want to apply theCheque book. Many more things need to be filled from the drop down menu. These include multicity options, number of Cheque books, number ofCheque levies.
According to the online SBI portal, multicity Cheque will be issued on request on this portal. If you want a normal Cheque book then you have to contact the home branch.
Fees can be collected for issuing Cheque books according to the type of account.
– There is a Rs 3 per Cheque leaf charge for all savings bank accounts. This is the case in which the Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) has been less than Rs 25,000 in the previous quarter.
– In accounts where QAB is more than Rs 25,000 in the previous quarter, the charge will be Rs 2 per Cheque leaf.
– 50 leaves are free for senior citizens / salary account holders every year.
step 5: Once all the necessary details are filled, click on ‘Submit’.
Step 6: Verify all the details of your Cheque book request. Then choose the address where you want delivery of the Cheque book. There are three options for this. These include the registered address, last available dispatch address and new address. If you want to share your contact details with the courier agent then you can do the same. this is up to you.
Step 7: Click on ‘submit’.
In this way, the request gets deposited for your new Cheque book. It arrives at the address you choose when requesting.
