Do not share personal details with anyone
SBI has said in its guidelines that customers should not share their personal information – such as date of birth, debit card number, Internet banking user ID / password, debit card PIN, CVV, OTP etc. with anyone.
Fraudsters try to lure you into their trap by claiming to have calls from customers on behalf of SBI or RBI and the government. Be careful with such phone calls. Many times they also call for KYC and try to ask for your personal details.
Do not pay attention to such offers
Do not download any mobile app on the basis of telephone call/email from an unknown source. Avoid clicking on attachments received in mails from unknown sources. Do not respond to any offers received through email, SMS and other social media, no matter how tempting it may be. The bank has said that your security is in your hands. Be safe.
The speed with which the Internet has spread in the country, the cases of such frauds have also increased at the same speed. The administration has formed a cyber cell to deal with such cases.
