SBI Alert: There will be no fraud on losing Debit Card, block the card in these 4 ways

SBI Alert: The country’s largest bank SBI has tweeted a video to protect its customers from big banking fraud. If your Debit Card has fallen or is lost somewhere, you can block it by following the process in the video. Due to this, there will be no risk of withdrawing money from your bank account. Along with this, SBI has also issued a toll free number for the convenience of customers. If you are unable to follow these steps, you can also block the card with the help of the toll free number given. These methods of blocking debit cards have been described by SBI in the video. 1. By calling this toll free number
The fastest way to block your SBI debit card is to call the bank’s toll free number 1800 11 2211 or 1800 425 3800. You will be given some instructions on the toll free number. You can block cards by following them. Applying for IVR on these numbers can also be applied for a new card. In a few days, after verification, a new card will be issued, which you will get at your registered address. If the card does not come to your address, then you can also take the card by going to the branch.

2. Through Net Banking
–  Log in to www.onlinesbi.com with your username and password
–  select ‘Block ATM Card’ under ‘ATM Card Services’ in the ‘eServices’ tab
–  Select the account which is linked to the debit card
–  All active and blocked cards will appear. You will see the first 4 and last 4 digits of the card.
–  With the card you want to block, select the reason for blocking the card. The reason can be selected from the dropdown menu. Then click on ‘submit’
–  verify details and confirm. Once the card is blocked, it does not have the option to unblock it through the Internet facility
–  select the method of authentication. It can be OTP or profile password via SMS
–  Enter the OTP / Profile password in the required box. After this, click on ‘Confirm’
– A message will appear with the ticket number if the card is successfully blocked. Keep it for future reference

3. Block by sending SMS
You can also block your ATM card by sending an SMS. To block your ATM card, you have to send BLOCK XXXX to 567676. Here are the last 4 digits of the XXXX debit card number. The SMS should be sent from the registered mobile number in the bank account. On receiving the SMS to the bank, you will be sent a confirmation SMS. The SMS alert will include the ticket number, date and time of blocking.

4. Visit the bank branch
To block your debit card, one can go to the nearest branch and request it from the bank officer.
