HDFC, the largest private sector bank, has sent a mail to customers asking them to link their Aadhaar with PAN by this month i.e. by 30 September 2021, otherwise banking services may be affected.
On the other hand, recently State Bank of India has made a special appeal for its 46 crore customers. SBI has asked its account holders to link PAN with Aadhaar card (PAN-Aadhaar card link) as soon as possible. According to the bank, if a customer does not do this work within the stipulated time frame, then their banking service may be disrupted.
Know what HDFC Bank said?
HDFC Bank has said that we are concerned that you will not be able to avail many banking services from October 1, 2021, as your PAN will be deactivated unless you link it with your Aadhaar. As per Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act 1961, every individual has to link his Aadhaar with his PAN by 30 September 2021.
SBI has said in its tweet that PAN-linking is necessary. Failure to do so will result in the PAN card becoming in-active after September 30. Inactive PAN card cannot be quoted in any transaction.

Process of Linking PAN and Aadhar
1- You have two ways to link PAN and Aadhar card. The first can be done by SMS and the second by visiting the Income Tax website.
2- If you want to link PAN and Aadhaar through SMS, then you have to SMS UIDPAN12 digit Aadhaar number10 digit PAN number to 567678 or 56161.
