SBI has maximum number of 22,224 bank branches, 3,906 ATMs. Earlier, SBI had started floating ATM in Kerala in the year 2004 as well. This floating ATM was opened at Srindant Lambi’s of Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation.
These floating ATMs have now become the center of attraction for the tourists along with meeting their cash needs. SBI has given a tremendous gift to the people of Srinagar. On August 16, SBI has opened an ATM on the houseboat in the famous Dal Lake of Srinagar. Let’s know about this floating ATM.
SBI tweeted, SBI has opened an ATM on a houseboat in Dallek, Srinagar for the convenience of locals and tourists. The floating ATM at the popular Dal Lake fulfills the long standing need and will be an added attraction to the attractions of Srinagar.
This effort brought relief to the people living on the houseboats as they had to come to the main city to withdraw money. He also says that it has benefited him as tourists want to stay in houseboats near ATMs.
Saqib Ibrahim, the owner of the houseboat, says, “If seen, tourism is benefiting for a few days. With this, tourists are getting a new experience. It has brought great convenience to the people. We are thankful to State Bank who has taken this step otherwise we would have had to go on the road.
In fact, after the Corona havoc, this summer saw a large number of tourist arrivals in the valley and most of the houseboats and hotels remained booked. Tourists staying on houseboats find it convenient to have a floating ATM. They also say that they are taking pictures with it because it is a unique experience.
Nabil Ahmadi, a tourist from Kerala, says, had seen a floating ATM in Kerala, had not heard about it, saw it here for the first time and liked the concept.
