Scholarships for Girls: Many initiatives are being taken in India regarding education so that education reaches every child. Especially the focus is being placed on the education of daughters so that daughters are not deprived of education for any reason. Apart from the thinking of the people, their economic condition is also responsible for the illiteracy of daughters. Many times families are not able to educate their daughters even if they want to because they do not have much money. To overcome this financial problem, today many scholarships are being issued for girls so that the education of daughters does not stop.
1. Technip India Limited Scholarship Program
Technip India Limited, as part of its CSR initiatives, offers scholarships to support the education of women candidates from poor backgrounds in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). A total of 150 scholars receive scholarships for their tuition fees.
2.Santoor Women Scholarship
Santoor Women Scholarship by Wipro Consumer Care and Wipro Cares provides financial assistance of Rs 24,000 annually to girl students who have passed class 12th and wish to pursue further education in the fields of Humanities, Liberal Arts and Sciences. This scholarship is given to 900 girl students from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
3. Tata Housing Scholarship
Tata Housing Scholarship is a merit-cum-means scholarship that provides financial assistance up to Rs 60,000 to meritorious girl students from economically weaker sections. This Tata Housing Scholarship is given to girl students in the field of MBA (Construction Project Management), B.Arch and Civil Engineering.
4. Pragati Scholarship
Pragati Scholarship is for girl students enrolled in the first year of a Diploma/Degree program from an AICTE-approved institution. Every year, scholarship amount up to Rs 30,000 is given to 4000 girl students.
5. Glow and Lovely Scholarship
This scholarship for girls provides a scholarship amount of Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 to help college going girl students pursue graduation or post-graduation studies from a government recognized Indian university/institution.
6. CBSE UDAAN
Under CBSE UDAN, girl students of class 11 and 12 are prepared for engineering entrance examinations to get admission in leading engineering colleges of the country. From virtual classes to all the necessary resources and study material on weekends, they are given to the girl students for free. Under this scheme, virtual classes are organized in 60 urban centers of the country.
7. L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship
L’Oréal India Scholarship offers a scholarship of up to Rs 2.5 lakh to meritorious girl students who have passed class 12th and wish to pursue a career in science. This scholarship is for girls of maximum 19 years of age.
8. Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child
Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child provides a monthly scholarship amount of Rs 3100 to girl students who are pursuing post-graduation in non-professional courses and are the only child of their parents. Twin daughters or sibling daughters can apply under this scholarship for girls.
