Class 6 admission process will be affected
The Directorate of Education has issued these guidelines for all government and government-aided schools. The new session will have some impact on the Class 6 admission process as students from two backgrounds will take admission. Students who have studied from a recognized school/government school till class 5 or a student who has not gone to school and wants direct admission in class 6. The Directorate of Education says that criteria have been set to ensure that these children come at the same level. Students who have studied Class 5 from a recognized school, i.e. those who have been promoted or passed Class 5, should be considered on the basis of their marksheet and transfer certificate/migration certificate.
Such students will be able to apply directly for class 6.
If a student has not studied Class 5 from a recognized school, but is aged 10 to 12 years, he can apply for admission in Class 6 under the Right to Education Act. Students can apply to schools near their home. The rules for admission for classes Nursery to Class 5 and Classes 7 and 8 will remain the same as before.
