School Admissions: Circular issued for primary class admissions in government schools, check complete details

The race for admission in pre-primary and primary classes of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas of Delhi is about to begin. Admission on vacant seats in these schools will be available on ‘first come first serve’ basis.

The race for admission in pre-primary and primary classes of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas of Delhi is about to begin. In these schools, admission to the vacant seats of pre-primary and primary classes will be available on the basis of ‘first come first serve’. The admission process will start from 15th April. In this regard, on Tuesday, the school branch of the Directorate of Education has issued a circular and given guidelines regarding filling the seats.

Schools will have to post details of vacant seats on the notice board right from the main entrance. Instructions have also been given to inform the school management committee members and school friends about the vacant seats. Preference will be given to those applying for admission on transfer basis in Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. A maximum of 40 students can be admitted.

The seat of a child who is absent for a long time in the current session will not be considered vacant until he/she is admitted to another school. If the child is absent since last year and cannot be reached then the seat will be considered vacant. Apart from this, if there is no Sarvodaya Vidyalaya within a radius of three kilometers of someone’s house then he will be eligible for admission. Besides, people living within an area of one kilometer will also be able to apply for admission.

Admissions for classes 6 to 9 also started

Let us tell you that, the registration process under the first phase for non-planned admission from classes 6 to 9 in government schools for the academic session 2024-25 in Delhi has also started from Monday, April 8. Only children living in Delhi will be eligible to apply for admission. This process will be completed in 3 phases. Parents will have to register on the website of Directorate of Education www.edudel.nic.in. Interested students will be able to register online for admission till April 17. The list of selected applicants will be displayed on 29th April. Document verification will take place from April 30 to May 10.

Helpline numbers released: Help desk facilities will be provided in schools to ensure that applicants do not face any difficulty. Parents will also be able to contact the school to fill the application form. Information regarding admission can be obtained by calling 1800116888 and 10580 on all working days from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.
