In view of the severe cold and fog, all schools from nursery to class 8 in Noida-Greater Noida will remain closed till January 14. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has given this order. Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar said that due to dense fog and extreme cold, holiday has been declared in all the board-affiliated schools running in Gautam Buddha Nagar up to class eight.

There was drizzle at many places in Greater Noida on Friday
It rained in many areas of Greater Noida on Friday. Due to this the industrial city became as cold as the mountains. People were seen troubled by the cold wave and severe melting. This is the reason why melting is being felt even on Saturday.
The situation is continuously worsening since last Tuesday. The day temperature is continuously falling. The day temperature on Friday was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius. It was five degrees Celsius below normal.
Sun God was not seen. There was severe melting during the day. Icy winds troubled. It became difficult to work due to melting in closed places. Fingers got jammed. Due to light fog in the morning, people leaving for important work were forced to wait.
Situation may improve after Saturday
Those traveling on two-wheelers also found mufflers, jackets and gloves inadequate. Visibility increased till around 9 o’clock but the fog in the sky remained continuous. The whole day was spent in the agony of melting and cold.
There is no change in night temperature. It was recorded at nine degrees Celsius. The maximum percentage of humidity was 95. There is cold-day condition in the city for the last four days.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of cold-day conditions on Saturday. After that the weather is expected to clear. There will be dense or very dense fog.
There may be light rain on Sunday
After fog in the morning on Sunday, there will be a possibility of clear weather in the afternoon. The sky will be cloudy. There is a possibility of light rain. There will be fluctuations in temperature.
At 12 noon on Friday, the AQI of Greater Noida was recorded at 328 and that of Noida at 308.
