In Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, the state government has given instructions to keep the schools of the state closed till 27 January 2024 (School Close News). However, this order is only for classes from nursery to 5th. Due to this order, winter vacation will continue for students up to class 5 in the schools of Gurugram and Faridabad of Haryana in the areas of Delhi NCR.
New Delhi. Even though it is the last week of January 2024, when it is believed that the effect of frost starts reducing. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case this year. Generally, the winter that subsides after Makar Sankranti continues this year and due to this, the effect of the cold wave going on in the northern states is not showing any sign of diminishing yet. In view of this, orders have been given by many different states and district administrations to keep schools closed for the time being in their respective areas (School Close News).
Schools opened in Delhi but timings changed
First of all, if we talk about the national capital Delhi, the schools in Delhi were reopened on 23 January after being closed in the first shift on 22 January due to the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya. However, changes in school timings have been made by private schools in Delhi due to the cold.
Schools up to 5th class closed in Haryana till 27th January

Updates from different cities of Uttar Pradesh
No orders have been issued to keep schools closed in the entire state including other areas of Delhi NCR, Noida and Ghaziabad. However, instructions were given by the DM of Agra to keep schools closed till January 24 for classes 1 to 8.
Chandigarh schools will open from January 29
On the other hand, Chandigarh administration has ordered schools from nursery to class 5 to remain closed till January 28. Junior classes are now to be organized in schools from January 29.
Jammu schools will open from January 28
Similarly, Jammu administration has also issued instructions to keep schools closed till January 27. Schools here will now be opened from January 28.
Chhattisgarh’s schools up to 12th closed till 27 January
Chhattisgarh state government has also ordered schools in the state from class 1st to 12th to remain closed till January 27, 2024, due to frost.
