School Closed: All private and government schools in the state will remain closed for 10 days, order issued

Colleges in the state will remain closed from May 30 to June 8. After the order of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary has also issued a notice in this regard to all the district officials.

School News: Bihar State Government has taken a big decision due to severe heat and heatwave. Giving relief to the students, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has issued an order to the Chief Secretary to close all private and government schools in the state. The government has taken this step to protect the students from the wrath of severe heat.

Instructions reached district officials

After the order of CM Nitish Kumar, Chief Secretary Barjesh Mehrotra wrote a letter to all the district officials. Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure action regarding closure of schools in view of the current situation as per the need. Apart from this, the district officials have also been instructed to take action in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Disaster Management Department, Bihar Patna through a letter issued on April 4 and the standard operating procedure issued by various departments in this regard to protect against severe heat and heat wave.

How long will the schools remain closed?

As per the order, all private and government schools in the state will remain closed from May 30 to June 8. Coaching institutes and Anganwadis have also been ordered to be closed. Teaching work will remain closed during this period.

Weather condition in Bihar

In the meeting of Disaster Management Group (CMG) held on 29th May, the representative of Indian Meteorological Department has predicted severe heat and heatwave till 8th June. For the past few days, most of the districts of Bihar have witnessed heat and heatwave. The temperature in Aurangabad and Kaimur has been recorded to be more than 46 degrees. This is more or less the situation in all other districts. There have been reports of students falling ill in Begusarai and Sheikhpura districts. After which the parents were planning to protest against the education department. But in the meantime, Nitish Kumar issued an order to close the schools.
