School Closed: GRAP-4 implemented in Delhi, all schools closed except 10th-12th, know what will be the restrictions

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) constituted by the Ministry of Environment have implemented the fourth phase (GRAP-4) of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi from Monday.

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: In view of the increasing air pollution in the country’s capital Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) constituted by the Ministry of Environment have decided to implement the fourth phase (GRAP-4) of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi from Monday. After the implementation of GRAP-4, many strict measures will be implemented by the government to control the level of air quality. At the same time, all schools except 10th and 12th class will remain closed in the country’s capital Delhi. It is worth noting that when the pollution level increases too much and the average AQI crosses 450, then the fourth phase of GRAP is implemented.

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: Entry of truck traffic will be stopped

After implementation of GRAP-4, entry of truck traffic into Delhi will remain closed (except trucks carrying essential goods/providing essential services). However, all LNG/CNG/Electric/BS-VI diesel trucks will be allowed to enter Delhi. Apart from EV/CNG/BS-VI diesel, LCVs registered outside Delhi will not be allowed to enter Delhi, only vehicles carrying essential goods/providing essential services will be exempted.

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: These restrictions will be applicable in Delhi

Strict restrictions will remain in place on the movement of BS-IV and below diesel-powered medium goods vehicles and heavy goods vehicles registered in Delhi, only vehicles carrying essential goods will be allowed.

Ban on demolition will continue as in GRAP Phase 3.

NCR state governments and gnctd can also opt for online mode for classes 6th to 9th and 11th in schools.

NCR state governments and GNCTD will decide on allowing public, municipal and private offices to work at 50% capacity and the rest to work from home.

The central government can take appropriate decision regarding allowing employees in central government offices to work from home.

State governments can consider additional emergency measures like closing colleges and institutes and implementing odd-even can also be considered.

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: CM Atishi announced closure of schools

Chief Minister Atishi on Sunday evening announced the closure of physical classes for all students except class 10 and 12 in view of rising air pollution in the capital. CM Atishi said in a post on social media platform X, “With the implementation of Grape-4 from Monday, physical classes will be closed for all students except class 10th and 12th in Delhi. All schools will conduct online classes till further orders.”

Delhi Pollution GRAP IV: AQI recorded above 500

On Sunday, AQI was recorded above 500 in Delhi-NCR. In many areas, AQI was recorded in the dangerous category. According to ‘AQI.in’, Delhi’s AQI was 477 at 8 am which increased to 548 in the evening. Apart from this, AQI of Alipur is 586, Anand Lok is 586, Anand Parvat is 521, Anand Vihar is 608, Ashok Vihar Phase-1 is 539, Bawana Industrial Area is 534, Bhalswa Landfill is 508, Greater Kailash is 586, ITI Shahdara is 608, Kalkaji is 646 and PGDAV College is 701.
