School Closed: Monsoon has knocked in the plains of the country as well as in the hilly states. Alert of moderate to heavy rain has been issued in many districts of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been decided to close all the schools in Ramban up to the secondary level for today.
School Closed: In view of heavy rains and flood warnings in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been decided to close all secondary level (Class 10) schools in Ramban district for today i.e. June 26. After the rain since morning, the incident of landslide has also been seen in Mehd area of the district. Because of which the movement of vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been affected.
The Deputy Commissioner of Ramban has said, ‘It has been decided to close all secondary schools for today following heavy rains’. At the same time, due to rain and landslides, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed in Mehd area of Ramban. People living in the area have been appealed to take extra precautions.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has become fully active in Jammu and Kashmir. All the conditions are also favorable for rain, due to which the state can see a lot of rain in the coming days. According to the advisory issued by the Meteorological Department, due to rain, there may be incidents of flash floods and landslides in some places, especially in the Jammu region.

Heavy rain alert in many districts on June 26-27
The Meteorological Department has said that there may be moderate to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir on 26-27. At the same time, on June 28 and 29, light to moderate rain may be seen in some areas. After the warning of the Meteorological Department, the local administration has also appealed to the people not to go to the areas where there is a danger of landslides.
The three main points of the advisory-
1- According to the Meteorological Department, due to rain, there may be flash floods in some sensitive places in the Jammu region and landslides may also occur.
2- After the rains, an estimate of increase in the water level of rivers and drains has been expressed. The state may see moderate to heavy rains in some areas within the next four days.
3- On behalf of the Meteorological Department, people have been appealed to take extra precautions during the active phase of monsoon in Jammu and Kashmir.
