In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in many districts of the state on July 14 and 15, keeping this decision in mind.

Uttarakhand School Closed: Giving relief to the students and teachers of all schools in Uttarakhand during the monsoon season, a holiday has been announced for the next 2 days. There will be a holiday for Harela festival on July 17 and schools will remain closed on July 16 due to Sunday. In this way, a holiday has been declared for four consecutive days in schools and colleges in the state.

Actually, it has been raining heavily in Uttarakhand for the last several days. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for heavy rains in many districts of the state on 14 and 15 July. In view of the weather patterns, after the Disaster Management Department, now the government has also announced the closure of schools on 14th July i.e. Friday and 15th July. Along with this, 16th July will be a Sunday and 17th July will be a holiday due to Harela festival. In this way, there will be a continuous holiday in the state for these four days.

Decision in view of heavy rain

Various types of calamities such as landslides, flash floods, boulder falling, water logging, road closure etc. are taking place in the state due to frequent heavy rains. The water level of all the rivers and drains has also increased, while many areas are facing floods. In such a situation, in view of the possibility of any kind of untoward incident, from the point of view of management of possible disasters, on 14 and 15 July 2023, in all schools of the state from class 1 to 12 (private and government) and all educational and educational centers in Anganwadi centers It has been decided to declare holiday including non-academic teachers/employees.

Using the powers conferred by Section 22 (1) of the Disaster Management Act 2005, on 14 and 15 July 2023, all the schools of the state (private and government students from class 1 to 12, academic and non-academic staff) and Anganwadi A holiday is declared for the centres, the order said.
