School Holiday 2024: Summer holidays declared for school students, know where schools will remain closed for how many days?

Summer holidays in Chandigarh between May to June

The Education Department, Chandigarh has also released the schedule of summer holidays for all government and government-aided schools. Under this, this time there will be 39 days of holidays from 23rd May to 30th June but teachers and staff will have to be present on 28th and 29th June. The new session will start from July 1. However, teachers will also have to come on certain dates during summer vacations.

Apart from this, autumn break is for four days from 29th October to 1st November. Winter holidays will be for 13 days from 26th December to 7th January. There will be a holiday for Raksha Bandhan on 19th August and Govardhan Puja on 2nd November. Principals and school heads will be able to take one day leave at their level.

Summer holidays in Delhi from May 11

According to the school calendar 2024 released by the Directorate of School Education, Delhi, this time the summer vacation in Delhi will be from 11 May to 30 June 2024. All teachers will come to school from June 28. Before this, in the month of March, there will be holidays of Good Friday on March 29, Eid-ul-Fitr on April 11, Ram Navami on April 17 and Mahavir Jayanti on April 21.

In the month of May, Buddha Purnima on 23 May, Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) on 17 June, Muharram on 17 July, Independence Day on 15 August, Janmashtami on 26 August, Eid-e-Milad on 16 September, Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October, Dussehra on 12 October. Schools will remain closed on Valmiki Jayanti on 17th October, Diwali on 31st October, Guru Nanak Jayanti on 15th November and then Christmas Day on 25th December.

Holiday in Madhya Pradesh from 1st May to 15th June

This year, summer vacation in Madhya Pradesh will start from May 1 and will continue till June 15, 2024. Apart from this, summer holidays for teachers will last from May 1 to May 31, 2024. These holidays will be applicable simultaneously to all private and government schools in the state. The holiday list of some big festivals has also been released. According to this, Dussehra holidays will be between 11th to 13th October 2024, Diwali holidays will be between 29th October to 3rd November and winter holidays will be between 31st December 2024 to 5th January 2025.

Early summer holidays possible in Tamil Nadu too

Due to Lok Sabha elections on April 19, summer vacations of students from class 1 to 12 in Tamil Nadu may start from April 13. According to a circular issued by the Directorate of School Education and Primary Education, summer vacations will begin from April 13. Due to the same elections, all government, government-aided and private schools in Tamil Nadu will be closed for classes I to IX from April 2 to 12. Final examination should be conducted.

Teachers were asked to evaluate answer sheets, release results and admission to the next academic year from April 23 to 26. The last working day of the academic year will be April 26. “The date of school reopening will be announced later,” the circular said.

In view of the extreme heat and upcoming general elections in Andhra Pradesh, it has been decided to give summer holidays to the students from April 23. This time the summer holidays are likely to last from 23 April to 13 June. However, no official announcement has been made by the government yet. This time there is a possibility of summer holidays for about 50 days.
